17 Firstborn

by aparke 2023. 12. 17.

1. The Firstborn

The Son is the Heir to the creation world.

Heb.1:6 Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, "Let all the angels of God worship him."

The Son is God the Creator, equal to the Father.[1] The Son became the Firstborn over all creatures by revealing Himself to the creation world. Although He became a creature[2], the fact that the Son is the Creator does not change. All creatures, including angels, ought to worship the Creator Son in a proper attitude.[3]

Col.1:15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Col.1:16 For by him were all things created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.

Col.1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.

The reason the Son is the Firstborn over all creatures is that all creatures, including angels and humans, were created for the Son. Father's share is inherited only by the firstborn.[4] God the Father created the creation world by His Son and in His Son to pass over to His Son.[5] The Son inherits the creation world as the Firstborn over all creatures.[6] Did the Son inherit the creation world as the only begotten Son who is God or the firstborn child who is a creature? The only begotten Son who is God, became the firstborn who is a creature in order to inherit the creation world. Since the only begotten Son who is God is the only one in ever-existing eternity[7], God the Son cannot be the firstborn to have His creatures as His younger brothers and sisters. Creatures can never be God. The Son is the Creator who created the creation world.[8] The creation world is not only of God the Father, but also of God the Son[9]. But what does the inheritance from the Father mean? Since God the Son emptied Himself, God the Son now inherits the creation world from the Father as a creature. In the process of inheriting the creation world, the Son will complete the creation world[10], and He will return the completed creation world back to the Father.[11]

In order to rule over the creatures, the Creator became a creature and confined Himself to the creation world.[12] (To be precise, He confined Himself in limited space-time[13], that are regarded by Him as worthless and less than nothing.[14]) Unlike in the past, when He indirectly ruled by commanding angels[15] through the name placed on the throne[16], now the Creator Himself rules over the creation world.[17] Because the Creator became a creature, the creatures can see and love the Creator in person.[18] This is probably different from seeing and loving only in letters. The Son put on a cursed body and obeyed His Father until He died, and then ascended to the true throne with the sovereignty over the creation world.[19] Those who put on a cursed body and obey the Son until they die to keep the commandments[20] will also share the inheritance like the Son.[21] This inheritance is the 1000-year kingdom.[22]

God created all creatures to resemble the Son who obeys the Father until death.[23] The Son is the Creator and the fully God.[24] He who had no sin[25], became a creature to complete His creatures so that they cannot have sin forever like Him.[26]

Rom.8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

God the Creator became a creature.[27] The Son became a creature and revealed God to the creatures He had made.[28] The Son is God the Creator who appeared Himself in His creation world.[29] The Father let the Son the Firstborn over all creatures in order to make the creatures be conformed to the likeness of the Son.[30] God the Creator who is in ever-existing eternity, became a creature and became a state of being limited by space-time which is only a creature.[31] Of course, this verse that the Son became a creature and became the Firstborn over all creatures would not explain the only begotten Son, the only Son of the Father, who is in ever-existing eternity as the Creator. The only Son of the Father who is God, is the only one, God the Son, who is God.[32] Even though the Son becomes the Firstborn over all creatures, and the adopted sons come out of the creatures that follow the Son[33], there is only one God the Son who is God. Here, being adopted as sons does not mean that the creatures are brought into the ranks of God. Being adopted means that the free will of the creatures is completed and they become creatures that will never sin again.[34] No creature can be a creator.[35] God is the only one.[36] Had the Son not been the Firstborn over all creatures, none of the creatures who had nothing to do with sin like the Son, would have come out.[37] Therefore, the word 'monogenace' which means 'only begotten' or 'one and only' or 'begotten alone' is a word used to describe the Creator Son.[38] And the word 'prototokos' meaning 'firstborn' is a word used to describe the Son who became a creature.[39]

In that sense, when Christ who is the Firstborn Son, is formed in a creature[40], the creature becomes a son of God.[41] In other words, he/she becomes the adoptee. Since the Son entered into the creation world as an adam and went on the path to perfect the free will of creatures by taking the cross, the grace of becoming the adoptee is also given to humans. When a person is confirmed as adopted, it is the time of resurrection and transformation.[42] Resurrection or transformation means to overcome death[43], and to overcome death means that he/she has no sin.[44] Consequently, only the humans who overcome sin through God the Holy Spirit become the adoptee. God the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of adoption, the Spirit of sonship[45], dwells in the flesh.[46] It is certain that the Spirit dwells in a saint who is clothed with a soulish body.[47] But I am not sure if He will also be in a saint who has been resurrected or transformed by being clothed with a spiritual body.[48]

       Resurrection and Transformation
premise: earthen body is a soulish body and resurrected or transformed body is a spiritual body.
1Cor.15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.
A spirit does not have flesh and bones.[49] Angels are spirits.[50] If an angel was a spirit-only creature, the angel would have no body. But angels can eat.[51] And Angels can be seen and touched by humans.[52] Express seeing an angel as seeing a person.[53] The situation is similar when the risen LORD Jesus appeared to His disciples and when an angel appeared to the saints. Both the resurrected person and the angel can suddenly appear in a closed space[54], or eat food.[55] If an angel had a body, it would not be a soulish body[56]. Is the angel really clothed with a spiritual body?
A human is a soul, and an angel is a spirit. A human, a soul, is clothed with a soulish body. If an angel, a spirit, is clothed with a body, then with what body is he clothed? When a human is resurrected or transformed, he/she becomes like an angel.[57] When a human is resurrected or transformed and put on a spiritual body, will the human's soul also be changed into a spirit?[58] Through resurrection and transformation, will the soul in a soulish body become a spirit in a spiritual body? If so, it is possible that an angel, a spirit, is also clothed with a spiritual body. Anyway, the souls who will be raised up by the resurrection of judgment and thrown into the lake of fire, will probably be resurrected as soulish bodies, I guess.[59] God resurrects the righteous with a spiritual body through God the Holy Spirit[60], but it is unlikely that the wicked will be resurrected with a spiritual body without God the Holy Spirit and thrown into the lake of fire.
When resurrected or transformed, a human bocomes like an angel.[61] Resurrection or transformation is to be clothed with a spiritual body.[62] Through God the Holy Spirit, God the Father resurrects and transforms the saints. If God the Holy Spirit does not leave the spiritual bodies of the saints who have been resurrected or transformed, and angels are also clothed with spiritual bodies, there is a possibility that we can see that God the Holy Spirit dwells in the bodies of angels as well. However, if the angels are not clothed with any bodies, or if God the Holy Spirit does not dwell in a spiritual body, God the Holy Spirit would not dwell with the angels or the resurrected saints.
When a human who loved God and his neighbors, is resurrected or transformed into a spiritual body, his free will was already perfected. It means he/she will never be able to sin again.[63] Because he/she is a creature who loves God and his/her neighbors even though he/she is clothed with thorns and thistles[64], a cursed body[65] of sinful desires[66], if he/she is clothed with a spiritual body that does not produce the desires of sin, he/she cannot sin.
Sin is not loving God and neighbors.[67] In other words, it is the sin to break the commandments.[68] Death holds sin.[69] Therefore, if someone has committed a sin, he/she will surely die. But if someone loves God and his/her neighbors, then death cannot hold him/her because he/she kept the commandments. He/She will be resurrected or transformed. Accordingly, if someone is resurrected or transformed, he/she proves that he/she has overcome death and that he/she has kept the commandments.[70]
The commandments are the manifestation of love. The love of the Creator appears as the commandments in the creation world.[71] Without the commandments, weak creatures suffer under the oppression of the strong creatures.[72] And God did not create creatures to be happy when they trample on their neighbors. Therefore, to judge sinners who break the commandments and trample on their neighbors, is also to love them.[73] For those who trample on their neighbors and for those who are trampled on, judgment is love. The evil creatures who refuse to repent[74] can only be freed from the pain caused by their own evil[75] only after paying all their evil deeds in the lake of fire[76] and being extinguished completely in the creation world.[77] I guess they will revert to non-being before God the Creator called them into the space-time. God's love and justice are revealed in the creation world through the commandments.[78]
God gave the commandments to creatures to love God and their neighbors.[79] And the commandments are the standards that creatures can keep.[80] However, Satan accuses the commandments of being unable to be kept by the creatures.[81] If God gave creatures the commandments that cannot be kept, the creatures would be judged and killed for failing to keep the commandments that cannot be kept. If so, God will become a murderer who kills His creatures for failing to keep the commandments that cannot be kept[82], and God will become a liar who tells us that we can keep the commandments that cannot be kept.[83] God's love and justice would be false if God really gave His creatures the commandments that cannot be kept.[84] But the commandments are not killing tools that kill creatures. Rather, the commandments protect the creatures from murder and suffering, and guarantee their happiness and rest.[85] The commandments are beautiful gifts from the Creator to the creatures.[86]
Therefore, when those who love God and their neighbors overcome death and are resurrected or transformed[87], the possibleness of observing the commandments, that is, the truthfulness of the commandments, is proved. And Satan's claim that the commandments cannot be kept by creatures turns out to be lies. In other words, the false doubts of the truthfulness of God's love and justice that have been scattered in the hearts of the creatures who have heard Satan's claims, are washed away. Since God's love and justice are proved through the human's resurrection and transformation, when humans who kept the commandments overcome death and are resurrected or transformed, the lies of Satan scattered in the hearts of angels, are washed away.[88] And the angels are finally fully convinced of the truthfulness of God's love and justice.[89] Angels who are convinced of God's love and justice come to love God without reservation and are completed as the creatures who will never rebel against God.[90] The possibility to sin remaining of the angels is extinguished. The free will of the angels is perfected through the resurrection and the transformation of the saints[91], the suitable helper[92], the bride of Christ[93].
The love and justice of the Creator were affirmed on the cross where God the Father and God the Son had to be cut off from each other for humans' sin.[94] Through the cross, creatures came to know the love of the Creator[95] and came to love the Creator.[96] Adams who came to love the Creator, came to keep the commandments and conquer death.[97] Humans were forgiven of their sins through the blood of the cross.[98] And God the Holy Spirit came upon those who were forgiven of their sins.[99] People who received God the Holy Spirit, came to love God and their neighbors, so they came to keep the commandments.[100] As they keep the commandments, they can overcome death and be resurrected and transformed. Since the free will of angels is also completed through their resurrection and transformation, the cross completes the creatures with those who have nothing to do with sin.[101] The love and justice of the Creator demonstrated on the cross, complete His creatures.[102] Therefore, the blood of the Son shed on the cross connects the Creator with His creatures.[103]

Adam was clothed with an earthen flesh from which the sinful desires arises, participated in the suffering of Christ[104] to remove sin from the creation world[105], fought Satan and defeated it. Finally, through the redemption of his body, he adopted as His son.[106] Only humans who are adopted as sons, are entrusted with rulership over the world to come.[107] These are the priests[108] who will reign under Jesus the King in the 1000-year kingdom[109] and will reside in the new Jerusalem city.[110]

Then, of the angels and humans, can only humans become the adopted sons after the Firstborn Son? Basically, God is the Father of all spirits[111] because He creates and keeps all creatures alive.[112] The adopted sons here do not simply mean the creatures created by God, but mean the completed creatures whose free will have been completed and will no longer sin.[113] In particular, it is a word referring to the witnesses who followed the path of suffering that the Son went through to perfect the free will of His creatures.[114] Just as the Son was resurrected through God the Holy Spirit, so the adopted sons will be resurrected and transformed through God the Holy Spirit.[115] Therefore, being adopted, I guess, will be applied first or only to humans who have the Spirit of adoption[116], God the Holy Spirit.[117] And humans who were adopted will reign under the Son in the 1000-year kingdom.[118] To be adopted means more than being a creature who will never sin by being formed into the image of the Son who is the Firstborn.[119] That is the inheritance.[120] Only humans who drank the cup of suffering to fulfill God's will, inherit the 1000-year kingdom as a reward.[121] For that reason, only humans who became witnesses without saving their lives until death for the Son[122], can be adopted as sons.[123]

But even if God allows only humans to be adopted as heirs, angels will also be perfected who will never sin through the Firstborn Son and the adopted humans.[124] If we express being a creature who will never sin because his/her free will is completed, as being a son, then even though angels cannot inherit the 1000-year kingdom[125], angels can also be called the sons of God.[126] The Son is the Firstborn over all creatures, including thrones and powers and rulers and authorities.[127] The Son is also the Firstborn over all angels. If so, then angels will also become sons who will never sin.[128] But before that, the sons of God who keep the commandments must appear from humans who are clothed with cursed flesh of which the sinful desires rise[129], and the truthfulness of the commandments must be fully proved.[130]

1John3:4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

1John3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

1John3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.

The Son has no sin. The Son is the commandments themselves. The Son is the image of the commandments.[131] The Son is the commandments revealed as as a creature.[132] Those who are in the Son do not sin through God the Holy Spirit who came in the name of the Son.[133] The reason that the Son determined to become a creature and became the Firstborn over all creatures, is to make the creatures unrelated to sin. God proves His love to His creatures through the cross of the Son.[134] The free will of the creatures who have come to know God's love is completed and the creatures whose free will is completed will not sin forever.[135] Creation is completed when creatures become those who will never sin again under any circumstances within the limits set by God for them.[136]

Matt.1:21 She shall bring forth a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins."

The Son's people are Israel narrowly, but broadly all creatures who are subject to the Son.

Col.1:20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross. Through him, I say, whether things on the earth, or things in the heavens.

Angels are also perfected as those who will not sin forever through knowing the love of God proved through the blood of the Son shed on the cross. Through the cross, not only humans of the earth but also angels of the heaven are reconciled to the Creator.

Hos.14:2 Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him, "Forgive all our sins, And accept that which is good: So we offer like bulls our lips.

Hos.14:3 Assyria can't save us. We won't ride on horses; Neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, 'Our gods!' For in you the fatherless finds mercy."

A creature who comes to know the love of God does not sin again.

Ezek.36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

Ezek.36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

Ezek.36:27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.

Ezek.36:28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

When the commandments are engraved in human's heart through God the Holy Spirit, he/she becomes the creature who will never sin.[137]

Mic.7:18 Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, And passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn't retain his anger forever, Because he delights in lovingkindness.

Mic.7:19 He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot; And you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

God will make those who obey God into those who have nothing to do with sin.

Luke15:21 The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no more worthy to be called your son.'

Luke15:22 "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.

A creature who came to know his/her helpless reality before the Creator Father and came to know the love of the Father will never be able to sin.

Luke18:13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'

The Creator is merciful to the creature who knows his/her helpless reality. The creature who came to know the price the Creator paid to forgive him/her cannot sin again.

2Cor.5:21 For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The ultimate purpose of the Son's rejection by His Father is to make humans and angels righteous creatures who are completely unrelated to sin.

Heb.9:26 or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Through the Son who appeared at the end of the ages and offered Himself as the sacrifice,[138] sin and death of the creation world will be extinguished completely.[139]

Titus2:14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

The commandments are love.[140] God created the creation world where the creatures can be happy together only if they keep the commandments with each other. To the Father, His Son is everything[141], and to the Son, His Father is everything.[142] The reason that the Father and the Son gave up everything is that the creatures can rest under the reign by the commandments of love. Bringing His creatures under the reign of love through His blood is the way how the Creator loves them.

The Son is the image of God, the Prototype of creatures.

John1:14 The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

John14:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, 'Show us the Father?'

John14:10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works.

2Cor.4:4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

Rom.8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Since the Son became a human in the cursed flesh, humans was given the opportunity to become the Son's brothers.[143] Angels would not have to suffer because they are not clothed with the cursed flesh from which the sinful desires produce. Therefore, angels will not have the glory that is accompanied with suffering.[144] It means that angels have no opportunity to become sons as heirs.[145] The sons are royal preists who will rule under the Son in the 1000-year kingdom.[146] Since only very limited content is recorded in the Bible after the 1000-year kingdom, I am not sure if there will be a concept of a son after the kingdom. I am not even sure whether there will be the concept of angels and humans even after the 1000-year kingdom. However, what is certain is that the 1000-year kingdom is the world that has been made subject to the sons adopted through God the Son[147] who became the Firstborn over all creatures.[148] God uses angels as ministers to serve those who will inherit salvation. It does not mean that angels are servants of humans, but it means that angels who are servants of God, serve humans under God's command.[149] Whether angels or humans, they all are just servants of God.[150] In a broader sense, the Creator is the Father who makes all spirits exist[151], but the sons as heirs here are limited to humans.

Gal.4:19 My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you--

Angels would not need the pains of childbirth. Then, does it mean that angels cannot form the image of the Son? It seems unlikely. Angels are basically servants who obey the word of God.[152] The image of God means a person who demonstrates the character of God.[153] God's character is revealed in the creation world through the word of God.[154] Perhaps angels are able to obey the word of God without much effort. But humans clothed with cursed flesh that produce the desires of sin, cannot easily obey the word of God. Therefore, humans need the pains of childbirth, and will have the glory corresponding to their sufferings.[155] Then, does it mean that angels are the images of God? Angels are not the perfect images of God from the outset. Angels' love for God will be perfected only after they come to know God's love and justice through the proof of the cross and the firstfruits.[156] Only then will the angels resemble the image of the Son who is completely obedient to His Father. Since God first proves the truthfulness of the commandments through the resurrection and the transformation of the adopted sons and then judges Satan fraudswarms[157], the free will of angels will probably be completed when the adopted sons, the martyr witnesses, are resurrected or transformed.[158] And I believe that if the free will of angels is completed, the angels will also become the images of God. Because Christ[159], the image of God, would have been formed in the perfected angels.[160] The Son is not only humans' firstborn, He is the Firstborn over all creatures.[161] Just as the Son who is the commandments themselves[162], kept the commandments, so the perfected angels will never deviate from the commandments after the Son.[163]

[1] Phil.2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider it robbery to be equal with God, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.

[2] 1Cor.15:45 So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

[3] Rev.5:11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands; saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing!" I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen." The four living creatures said, "Amen!" The elders fell down and worshiped.

[4] Deut.21:17 He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father's strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

[6] Luke20:13 The lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.' "But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.'

[12] 1John1:1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life (and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us);

[13] Rom.8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[14] Is.40:15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust. Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings. Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.

[15] Judg.13:21 But the angel of Yahweh did no more appear to Manoah or to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of Yahweh. Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

[20] Rev.12:11 They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn't love their life, even to death.

[21] Rev.2:26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations. He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father:

[22] Heb.2:5 For he didn't subject the world to come, whereof we speak, to angels.

For most assuredly, not to angels does he give help, but he gives help to the seed of Abraham.

[144] Rom.8:17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.
