Ω End of the 1st half of the 70th week, beginning of the 2nd half of the 70th week |
Matt.24:15 "When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), Matt.24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Matt.24:20 Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, Matt.24:21 for then will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. Matt.24:22 Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened. Matt.24:29 But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; Matt.24:30 and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. Matt.24:31 He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. |
When the abomination of desolation stands in the holy place, the reign of the beast begins for 1260 days, or 42 months.[1] In other words, when the son of destruction sits in the temple building and says that he is God, the great tribulation begins. (There may be an opinion that the great tribulation will begin 'with' the 1st half of the 70th week, by interpreting 'half' in Dan 9:27 as 'for half'.[2] And there may be an opinion that the great tribulation will begin 'in' the 1st half of the 70th week, by interpreting 'half' in Dan 9:27 as 'in the middle'.) Since this great tribulation has not been from the beginning of the world and has not been since there was a nation until that time[3], unless those days had been shortened, no matter how the firstfruits[4], no flesh would have been saved. Therefore, for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened. At the end of this great tribulation, the LORD Jesus will come into the air. |
2Thess.2:1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of the LORD Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you 2Thess.2:2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come. 2Thess.2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, 2Thess.2:4 he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. |
The son of destruction, that is, the abomination of desolation, first sits in the temple building and says that he is God, and then the LORD Jesus comes into the air. When the son of destruction says that he is God, the great tribulation that has not been from the beginning of the world will begin. |
Dan.9:27 He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate. Dan.12:1 "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book. |
Depending on whether 'week half' is translated as 'at half point' of the week or 'for half' of the week, the following views may differ. There may be an opinion that at 'half point' of the 70th week, that is, at the end of the 42 months of the 1st half of the 70th week, the son of destruction will sit in the temple building and cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And there may be an opinion that at the beginning of the 70th week the son of destruction will sit in the temple building and cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease 'for half' of the 70th week. In other words, depending on the difference in translation, there may be an opinion that the great tribulation will begin near the end of the reign of the beast, and there may be an opinion that all the 42 months of the beast's reign will be included in the great tribulation period. In any case, the great tribulation will begin when the son of destruction sits in the temple building. |
1Cor.15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 1Cor.15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. 1Cor.15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. |
The last trumpet is the 7th trumpet. The 1st resurrection takes place with the sounding of the 7th trumpet. |
1Thess.4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, 1Thess.4:17 then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. |
The martyr witnesses who are resurrected or transformed are caught up into the air where the LORD Jesus came, and will be with the LORD Jesus ever since. |
Rev.11:14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly. |
The 6th trumpet is the 2nd woe. When the 6th trumpet is sounded, the 4 angels bound at the great river Euphrates are released, and people1/3 die.[5] With the resurrection of the 2 witnesses, the period of the 6th trumpet ends and the period of the 7th trumpet, the 7 golden bowl plagues, begins.[6] The 7th trumpet is the 3rd woe. |
Rev.11:15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!" Rev.11:16 The twenty-four elders, who sit before God's throne on their thrones, fell on their faces and worshiped God, Rev.11:17 saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned. Rev.11:18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your servants the prophets, their reward, as well as the saints, and those who fear your name, the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth." Rev.11:19 God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed. |
The great tribulation caused by the son of destruction sitting in the temple building, ends with the sounding of the 7th trumpet. At the climax of the great tribulation, the LORD Jesus comes into the air with the sounding of the 7th trumpet. The saints avoid the 7 plagues, the most severe tribulation. For the saints, the days of the great tribulation will be reduced.[7] |
Is.26:19 Your dead will come back; their dead bodies will come to life again. Those in the dust, awaking from their sleep, will send out a song; for your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the shades. Is.26:20 Come, my people, into your secret places, and let your doors be shut: keep yourself safe for a short time, till his wrath is over. Is.26:21 For the Lord is coming out of his place to send punishment on the people of the earth for their evil-doing: the earth will let the blood drained out on her be seen, and will keep her dead covered no longer. |
The LORD Jesus who came into the air, catches up the martyr witnesses. This air is also expressed as the 'secret places' and also as the 'sea of glass'. After catching up the martyr witnesses who are raised by the 1st resurrection into the secret places, the LORD Jesus pours out the 7 plagues on the earth. to punish the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth. He is sending punishment on the people of the earth for their evil-doing.[8] |
7th trumpet[9]=3rd woe=7 golden bowl plagues[10]=2nd half of the 70th week[11] |
Those who have been resurrected or transformed stand on the sea of glass mixed with fire and sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb.[12] The temple of God is opened and the ark of the covenant in the true most holy place is visible.[13] The temple of the tabernacle of the testimony is opened and the temple is filled with smoke from the glory of God.[14] |

The water of the Euphrates are dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the east.[21] This event was foreshadowed by Cyrus, king of Persia, preparing a way to invade the city by diverting the river Euphrates, the source of the moat surrounding Babylon, from its course[22] in order to destroy Babylon.[23] Persia was also east of Babylon. As of 2022, the Euphrates river is in Turkey, Syria and Iraq. Historically, Babylon is now Iraq, and Persia is now Iran. The kings coming from the east are thought to be the LORD Jesus and the royal priests who follow the LORD Jesus, the heavenly army.[24] An angel with the seal of God came from the rising of the sun.[25] Kings also come from the east where the sun rises. 3 unclean spirits like frogs, spirits of demons, come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. The spirits of demons, performing signs, gather the kings of the whole world together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-magedon for the war of the great day of God.[26] |
Armageddon 'Armageddon' means 'hill of Megiddo'. 'Megiddo' is a place name in Israel and means 'place of crowds'. Megiddo is also close to Mount Carmel[27] and the brook Kishon[28] where Elijah killed the prophets of Baal, and the vicinity where Jehu destroyed those belonging to the harlot Jezebel.[29] Jabin the king of Canaan, and the army of Sisera the commander of the army, who tormented Israel during the period of the Judges were also destroyed by Deborah, Barak, and Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, at brook Kishon.[30] Therefore, 'Armageddon' is the place where Satan's forces will be completely destroyed. In particular, it refers to the place where the beast and the false prophet and their forces will be slain in the last days.[31] |

Judgment against the great prostitute Babylon[33] |
The beast possessed by the prostitute[34] and the 10 horns of the beast kill the Babylon prostitute.[35] 2Kin.9:30 When Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window. 2Kin.9:31 As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, you Zimri, your master's murderer? 2Kin.9:32 He lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? There looked out to him two or three eunuchs. 2Kin.9:33 He said, Throw her down. So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trod her under foot. 2Kin.9:34 When he was come in, he ate and drink; and he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter. 2Kin.9:35 They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands. 2Kin.9:36 Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel; 2Kin.9:37 and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel. † Ahab symbolizes the political leader, the beast, and Jezebel, the religious leader, the prostitute. The marriage of Ahab and Jezebel foreshadows the unity of politics and religion.[36] At this time even Judah was under Jezebel's influence.[37] Jezebel uses Ahab the political force, to kill God's people.[38] Through Jezebel's scheme, the vineyard which symbolizes the church, is handed over to the wicked.[39] In the end, Jezebel the prostitute is eaten by dogs representing the beast.[40] |
[1] Rev.13:5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him. He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven. It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.
[2] Dan.9:27 He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week(view2:for half of the week) he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate.
[3] Dan.12:1 "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book.
[4] Rev.11:2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don't measure it, for it has been given to the gentiles. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth. If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
[5] Rev.9:13 The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had one trumpet, "Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!" The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they would kill one third of mankind.
[6] Rev.11:12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here!" They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them. In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.
[7] Matt.24:21 for then will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened.
[8] Rev.16:5 I heard the angel of the waters saying, "You are righteous, who are and who were, you Holy One, because you judged this way. For they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this." I heard the altar saying, "Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments."
[9] Rev.11:14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly. The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!"
Rev.11:19 God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.
[10] Rev.15:7 One of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power. No one was able to enter into the temple, until the seven plagues of the seven angels would be finished.
[11] Dan.9:27 He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week(view2:for half of the week) he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate.
[12] Rev.15:1 I saw another great and marvelous sign in the sky: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them God's wrath is finished. I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who overcame the beast, and his image, and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations. Who wouldn't fear you, Lord, And glorify your name? For you only are holy. For all the nations will come and worship before you. For your righteous acts have been revealed.
[13] Rev.11:15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!" The twenty-four elders, who sit before God's throne on their thrones, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned. The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your servants the prophets, their reward, as well as the saints, and those who fear your name, the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth." God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.
[14] Rev.15:5 After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. The seven angels who had the seven plagues came out, clothed with pure, bright linen, and wearing golden sashes around their breasts. One of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power. No one was able to enter into the temple, until the seven plagues of the seven angels would be finished.
[15] Rev.16:2 The first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth, and it became a harmful and evil sore on the men who had the mark of the beast, and who worshiped his image.
[16] Rev.16:3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man. Every living thing in the sea died.
[17] Rev.16:4 The third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of water, and it became blood.
[18] Rev.16:8 The fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was given to him to scorch men with fire. People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn't repent and give him glory.
[19] Rev.16:10 The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was darkened. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain, and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They didn't repent of their works.
[20] Rev.16:12 The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates. Its water was dried up, that the way might be made ready for the kings that come from the sunrise. I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, something like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs; which go forth to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to gather them together for the war of that great day of God, the Almighty.
[21] Rev.19:13 He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called "The Word of God." The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen.
[22] Is.44:27 who says to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers; Who says of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She shall be built; and of the temple, Your foundation shall be laid.
[23] Dan.5:26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has numbered your kingdom, and brought it to an end; TEKEL; you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting. PERES; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain. Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.
[24] Dan.11:44 But news out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him; and he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many. He shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
[25] Rev.7:2 I saw another angel ascend from the sunrise, having the seal of the living God. He cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Don't harm the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, until we have sealed the bondservants of our God on their foreheads!"
[26] Rev.19:17 I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the sky, "Come! Be gathered together to the great supper of God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, and small and great."
[27] 1Kin.18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel to Mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred fifty, and the prophets of the Asherah four hundred, who eat at Jezebel's table. So Ahab sent to all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together to Mount Carmel.
[28] 1Kin.18:40 and Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal; don't let one of them escape. They took them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.
[29] 2Kin.9:27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden-house. Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot: [and they struck him] at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there. His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David. In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah. When Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.
[30] Judg.5:19 The kings came and fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan. In Taanach by the waters of Megiddo: They took no gain of money. From the sky the stars fought, From their courses they fought against Sisera. The river Kishon swept them away, That ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.
Ps.83:9 Do to them as you did to Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;
[31] Rev.19:19 I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse, and against his army. The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. They two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came forth out of his mouth. All the birds were filled with their flesh.
[32] Rev.16:17 The seventh poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came forth out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" There were lightnings, sounds, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since there were men on the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty. The great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. Every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. Great hailstones, about the weight of a talent, came down out of the sky on men. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for this plague is exceedingly severe.
[33] Rev.17:1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,
Rev.17:15 He said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.
Rev.17:5 And on her forehead a name was written, "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
Rev.17:9 Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. They are seven kings. Five have fallen, the one is, the other has not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a little while.
Rev.17:18 The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth."
[34] Rev.17:3 He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored animal, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.
[35] Rev.17:16 The ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, and will make her desolate, and will make her naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire.
Rev.18:7 However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.' Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.
[36] 1Kin.16:30 Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh above all that were before him. It happened, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.
[37] 2Kin.8:27 He walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
[38] Rev.13:6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven. It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.
[39] 1Kin.21:6 He said to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it please you, I will give you [another] vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give you my vineyard.
