9 Sea of glass

1. The bronze sea

†   The sea of glass is the water above the expanse that separates Hades from the heaven of angels.

Rev.4:6 Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, like a crystal. In the midst of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

†   After passing through the sea of glass, it is the heaven of angels with the throne.

Ex.38:8 He made the basin of brass, and its base of brass, out of the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered at the door of the tent of meeting.

†   The bronze basin is made from mirrors. It is reminiscent of the sea of glass like crystal. Mirrors illuminate ourselves and make us wash dirty things. Those who are guilty cannot go through the sea of glass.

Rev.15:2 I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who overcame the beast, and his image, and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.

†   The mixing with fire in the sea of glass indicates that the judgment of the seven plagues will soon be poured out on Hades under the sea of glass.

  Ps.97:2 Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. A fire goes before him, And burns up his adversaries on every side. His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles.

  Ps.18:10 He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion around him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, Hailstones and coals of fire.

  Nah.1:3 Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. Yahweh has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

  Rev.20:14 Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

  Ps.24:2 For he has founded it on the seas, And established it on the floods.
